'Nothing ventured, nothing gained...'

I'm tryna pursue that elusive feeling we call 'happiness'... i'm currently focusing on my career related happiness...

I've been interning on and off now for about 4 months and it is well tiring...you're basically working for free... lifting, carrying, sorting, phoning, emailing....alot of ings really!

These placements have been in Press Offices for well known high street shops, one of which was ok, another of which was *thumbs down* and the one im currently doing is really good...so far...it's only been a week but ya know...

In order to keep my head above water financially, i've also been working in the evenings (NOT as Lady of the Night mind you!) but in a call centre...doing...market research *shudder* and before you ask; YES it is depressing....

This is how my day goes:

07:30 :- wake up

08:30 :- leave house and go to internship in Oxford St

09:30 :- arrive at internship and commence all the 'ings' mentioned earlier

16:00 :- leave internship and head to call centre in central London (peak travel time...London Underground...need I say more?)

17:00:- start shift at call centre (non-stop talking *dry mouth*)

21:00 :- leave call centre and head home

22:00:- arrive home and scrounge around in the kitchen in order to fill my belly

23:30 :- bed time

I know that this may not sound like much to some people but it's alot for meee, I aint used to all this labour, my whole body aches and my eyes feel heavy all the time :-(

I just hope and pray that this hard work and effort pays off but you know what they say...

  1. Maxine Powers it's A Bailey! I done the whole interning thingy a few years back and it's great although hard work! I worked seven days a week and in the end I got signed off due to exhaustion!... ok *yawns* that's enough about me... all I am trying to say is keep up the hard work!

  3. I feel your pain gurl, but like the poster above me said hard really does pay off. I know you are destined for great things and you know it yourself, so my final words is this... don't let this situation keep you off your grind, keep your head up and i know you'll be fine, keep fighting untill you get there and when you're down and feel like giving up...think again!
