My stereo is old, I mean like 10 years + old, but it still does the trick (when it wants to and when the CD in question is new and not copied) so with that in mind I immediately gravitated towards my Phil Collins 'Hits' album cos I was in that kinda mood and I really believe that Phil is so underrated when he's actually a G...
But my stereo, being the temperamental thing that it is, decided not to work so after about 13 minutes of switching it off/on, wiping the disc down and blowing into the system, I gave up and searched for another selection...
In late 2008, early 2009 I went through a phase of stealing my younger brothers blank CD's and making compilations, the mixes were legendary if I do say so myself.
On one collection I famously put Aaliyah 'A Girl Like You', Emma Bunton 'Maybe', LL Cool J ft The Dream 'Baby' and Giggs 'Open Up' on the same CD, I called it '29th August 2008 - Summer Sounds' my brothers called it "confused" but I digress...
So still looking for something to listen to while I sorted out my wardrobe, I came across my '18th October 2010 - Sade, Will Young and Others' mix so I popped it in...
Now if you don't know about Sade then I dunno where you've been for the past 20 odd years... I grew up on her, my mum calls her my dads 'other woman' cos he used to love her so much and from looking at the following it's not hard to see why...
This is natural beauty in its most simple form...and it doesn't hurt that she's half Nigerian aswell...right on my sister!
