'Just One of Those Days...'

So today was just one of 'those' days...you know the type I mean, when you're just like *sigh*


I think it was my combined total of like nine hours sleep in the past two days plus the fact that my 12 minute bus journey took 28 minutes this morning that made me feel so, like I said, *sigh*


After finally getting into work and eating my obligatory two bowls of Cheerios at my desk (i'm quite comfortable there now) I just wanted to zone out so I logged onto YouTube and listened to Kanye's 'Spaceship' which fitted my mood perfectly...


Then I listened to 'Flashing Lights' cos that tune is just that tune innit...


I just switched it up and typed in A-a-l-i-y-a-h and clicked on the first song that attracted me... 'Hot Like Fire' (I think I would be a sick DJ)


I played that song two times in a row and then scrolled down the right hand side of the screen and found an Aaliyah playlist...


It was just too smooth, I felt like a kid again 'One in a Million' 'Rock the Boat' 'If Your Girl Only Knew'...all them tunes and then some! I was melodically humming and doing the bounce like I was in Moesha...


It got me thinking about when I was a young girl...the kind of artists I grew up with... and practised dances to... and wanted to 'be' in the playground... and wanted to dress like; Aaliyah, Monica, Brandy, TLC, Destiny's Child, Allure, En Vogue, Eternal, 702, Blaque, Jade shoot even the Spice Girls!


Their style was quite outlandish sometimes but they were still beautiful...

Even though I love all those mentioned there is one that stands out for me and would be my permanent Girl Crush if she was still alive


Effortlessly sexy and a quiet, understated beauty coupled with a voice that managed to sound sultry and innocent at the same time...


You already know who i'm on about, i've mentioned her like a million times...


It's the one, the only...
